ANOTHER Scottish Tory councillor has defected to Reform UK.
Aberdeenshire councillor Lauren Knight has jumped ship to Nigel Farage’s party, it was announced on Thursday.
Knight, who represents the Huntly, Strathbogie and Howe of Alford ward, claimed the Tories had “left her" and said she "feels let down by so many broken promises”.
Knight went on: "I am committed to being a strong voice for those who are too often unheard and to working tirelessly to ensure that every child, regardless of their needs, is given the opportunity to thrive.
“This is not just a political responsibility – it is a personal mission."
Knight claimed Scotland “has been abandoned by the two-party establishment”. It is unclear which two parties she is referring to.
Her defection is the third this month, after her fellow Tory Duncan Massey defected in Aberdeen City, and Scottish Labour’s Jamie McGuire defected in Renfrewshire.
Knight is the 15th Scottish councillor (out of a total of 1226) to defect to Reform UK.
