Scottish TexMex chain unveils first Edinburgh restaurant opening next month

From queues of people lining up over lockdown for tasty food pop-ups to the city's first Taco Bell opening, there's plenty to get excited about on Edinburgh's foodie scene right now.

FreshMex, which already has burrito bars in Aberdeen and Nottingham, is set to become the latest addition to Lothian Road's food offering.

Selling a tasty selection of burritos, tacos and nachos, they pride themselves on delivering award-winning TexMex scran that is fresh.

Judging by the Aberdeen menu, this is going to be the place to go for comfort food after a night on the tiles, with mouth-watering options and cheap prices.

You can pick up fresh mex fries in Tex rub spice for just £3.50 or build your own huge burrito, quesadilla or loaded fries from £8, with fillings that include grilled chicken, chorizo chilli and BBQ pulled jackfruit.

Taking to social media sharing a picture of the new diner ahead of opening next month, they said the restaurant and takeaway will be able to seat up to 60 people.

The post read: "Edinburgh works have begun.

"It's been a busy time for our teams in Aberdeen and Nottingham, but we are so excited for June and the launch of FreshMex Edinburgh

"Our new 60-seater restaurant & takeaway location is 119 Lothian Road, Edinburgh - we've wrapped it up FreshMex style just in case you miss it

"The countdown is officially ON."
