Scottish tech-for-good businesses fight for £100,000 prize

Three Scottish tech-for-good entrepreneurs have been selected for the Startup Summit Competition final.

The entrants will pitch for a top prize worth over £100,000 in front of hundreds of attendees at this year's Startup Summit on 26 October.

Judges from FutureX, Johnston Carmichael, STV and ClearSky Logic selected Christian Arno (Pawprint), Lynne Darcey Quigley (Know-It) and Hugh Craigie Halkett (StampFree) to progress from the semi-finals which took place virtually on 4 October.

Pawprint is an employee engagement tool aimed at driving work towards an organisation’s climate targets. Know-it gives small businesses the ability to mitigate credit risk, increase cashflow and reduce debtor days. Stamp Free is a digital postage solution built on artificial intelligence technology and delivered via a mobile app.

The overall winner of the Startup Summit Competition will receive a fully-funded place on FutureX's Silicon Valley Scale programme, in addition to the financial support package.

As part of the programme, winners will have the opportunity to connect with leading players in the tech industry and pitch to potential investors. Previous cohorts have met with executives from Airbnb, Facebook, SurveyMonkey, Y Combinator and Waze.
