Scottish SPCA seek information after dog is left to die

The SSPCA are appealing for help from the public after a dog was left to die on a popular Lanarkshire walking route.

The male fox red Labrador was found on the walkway at Cardies Bridge, off Brownlee Road, Law, by a member of the public on March 30.

Despite being rushed to a nearby vet he sadly passed away from the injuries he had sustained - the animal welfare charity confirming that the dog was in a great amount of pain when discovered.

SSPCA inspector, Heather Lawson, said: “We are appealing to the public for any information relating to this incident.

“The dog was found at around 9am in the popular walking area of Cardies Bridge and we are not sure how long he would have been there.

“Due to the extent of his injuries, the dog would sadly have been caused a considerable amount of pain and suffering.

“If anyone saw anything or has any information that could help us determine how this dog came to be injured and abandoned, please contact our confidential animal helpline on 03000 999 999.”
