Scottish SPCA appeals for dog food for Lanarkshire centre

The Scottish SPCA’s Lanarkshire Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre is appealing for food and vet bedding for dogs in their care.

The centre, on Bothwell Road in Hamilton, has already cared for 291 dogs like Moose since the start of 2022, and is running low on tins of wet food and vet bedding.

Items can be purchased from the centre’s Amazon wish list or via any other online retailer offering direct delivery to the animal charity.

Centre manager, Gillian Boyle, said: "We are in need of essential food for the dogs in our care.

"We are in need of tins of wet food to keep dogs like Moose happy and healthy while they wait to find their forever homes.

"We are also running low on vet bedding. We use this bedding for nursing mums and animals recovering from surgery.

"Your support means that we can continue to provide the best possible care for the animals at our centre.

"We’d be so grateful for any donations that people can spare and we know the dogs will be too."

Dog food and bedding can be donated via the centre’s Amazon wish list or sent from another online retailer that can deliver.

Items can also be handed in daily between 1pm and 4pm to the reception at the SSPCA Lanarkshire Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre, Hamilton, ML3 0SB.
