Scottish School Closures Survey: Tell us what you really think of new measures to stop Covid-19 spread

Scotland’s schools will be closed for the entire of January as part of the new lockdown imposed across the country.

Most pupils were scheduled to return to schools on the already-delayed date of January 18 after the winter break.

But that date was pushed back until at least February as concerns over a new strain of coronavirus continue to grow.

Nicola Sturgeon said that the more-transmissible variant is responsible for around 50% of the new cases reported overnight on Tuesday.

The move to keep schools closed means that pupils will have to make do with home learning and online teaching again.

Government officials will review the reopening of school buildings in mid-January.

So, what do you make of the decision to keep schools closed for longer? Will it have an impact on your child’s mental health? Or do you agree with the Government’s ‘safety-first’ approach?

We are looking for Daily Record readers to give us their thoughts and feelings on the decision in our January Scottish School Closures Survey.

You can have your say on our survey above or click here.
