SCOTTISH pupils were forced a flee a school bus that burst into flames on a busy road on Wednesday afternoon.
The bus full of students from McLaren High School was travelling on the A81 between Callander and Aberfoyle at the time of the fire.
Emergency services raced to the scene near Port of Menteith after an alarm was raised at around 3.50pm on June 22.
Fortunately, no one was hurt and pupils and the driver watched fire crews tackle the blaze from a safe distance.
Everyone on the bus evacuated as smoke began to billow out of the back.
Pictures then show the vehicle engulfed in flames before it was attended to by emergency services, leaving a burnt-out shell.
It is currently unclear how the fire started.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue said: "We received seven calls alerting us to the report of a bus alight on the A81 Callander to Aberfoyle road. The first call came in at 3.53pm.
"We had two appliances attend this incident. It was a double-decker bus well alight on arrival.
"Nobody was injured. We left the scene at 6.40pm."
Meanwhile, a Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers were made aware of a bus on fire on the A81 near Port of Menteith, Stirling at around 4.10pm on Wednesday, June 22.
"Emergency services attended and the fire was extinguished."
