Dozens of visitors clogged a road leading to a popular Lothians beauty spot as locals rushed to make the most of soaring September temperatures.
Stunning drone images show a huge row of vehicles packing the access route to Gladhouse Reservoir amid a late summer mini-heatwave.
Photographer Lee Live captured a striking picture of an endless line of parked cars on a narrow track leading to the picturesque body of water after visitors found the car park rammed.
It comes just a few months after police were forced to step up patrols in the area following unruly behaviour during the end of the last lockdown.
Photographer Lee said: “It’s the first time I’ve been able to fly my drone there now that the protected birds have departed for the year and I’ve never seen it so busy.
“The car park was absolutely mobbed. There was only one parking space left by the time I got there.
“It just seems to happen whenever there is a hot day, it’s like the entire Lothians arrive at once.”
The reservoir is popular with paddle boarders, wild swimmers and campers seeking to escape the Capital.
It is also a prominent fishing spot thanks to a healthy population of brown trout living in the water.
In March, local officers were forced to deploy an increased presence around the area after wild campers left burning fires and filthy campsites abandoned during pandemic lockdown measures.
