Scottish quarantine list: Two new countries added to destinations required to self-isolate from

Scots travellers hoping to jet off to popular holiday destinations in either Portugal or French Polynesia will now be required to quarantine on return.

The changes will come into effect from 4 am on Saturday 5 September allowing holidaymakers just two days to rush back to Scotland.

Portugal and French Polynesia will join a long list of countries which now require quarantine and the Justice Minister warned that Gibraltar will likely be next.

Justice Minister Humza Yousuf said: "If arriving into Scotland from Portugal or French Polynesia from 4am Sat (5th Sept) you'll have to self-isolate for 14 days.

"Gibraltar high up our watch list of countries we are monitoring closely. This week's data shows increase in test positivity & cases per 100k in Portugal."

The two latest countries join Greece, Czech Republic, Jamaica and Cuba in being added to list in the last few days.
