Scottish Premiership club's approach for Celtic player 'revealed'

Dundee were keen to sign Dane Murray on loan (Image: Shutterstock)

Dundee have reportedly had a loan offer rejected by Celtic.

According to The Courier, Steven Pressley was keen to take Dane Murray on loan for the 2026/27 league season.

However, an approach to sign the defender was knocked back by Celtic, who do not wish to loan out the centre-back.

Murray, 23, was on the bench for Celtic against Dundee on Monday night in the 1-0 win for the Parkhead side.

The defender played 16 times for Celtic last season, scoring one goal for the Glasgow club.

Auston Trusty and Cameron Carter-Vickers look to be the preferred Celtic defensive partnership under Martin O'Neill this season.

Liam Scales is also on the books, while also capable of covering at left-back if need be. Murray is a fourth central defender currently at Celtic.
