Scottish Premiership champions Rangers have signed a Liverpool-based health company to test staff and players at the club for Covid-19.
DAM Health has secured the contract as the club’s official Covid-19 testing partner and its staff will now carry out assessments on the likes of manager Steven Gerrard and star striker Alfredo Morelos.
The firm, which started on Merseyside but now operates testing sites across the UK and Europe, will provide Rangers with a range of different coronavirus testing solutions including for staff and players at the club.
Rangers’ director of commercial and marketing James Bisgrove said: "We are delighted to join forces with DAM Health and welcome them on board as an associate partner as we move into our 150th anniversary season.
"As Rangers move forward from global pandemic and international travel returns, DAM Health will be providing services and crucial support on several fronts.
"We look forward to working closely with the team and activating their partnership during next season and beyond."
Professor Frank Joseph, DAM Health’s medical director, added: "We are thrilled and honoured to be working with the historic and prestigious football club, Rangers, and look forward to developing a thriving relationship with them while also making a difference.
"At DAM Health we have a range of testing methods and we are also talking to other sports clubs about providing Covid-19 testing solutions.
"I am confident that this will all help contribute to a very positive future for our society."
