A SCOTTISH police station was evacuated after a possible “unexploded bomb” was handed in by a member of the public this week.
The Borders station in Hawick, and the surrounding area, was then cordoned off on Tuesday.
The bomb squad was also called in and the small "ordnance" was safely removed.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.50pm on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, a member of the public handed in a small possible unexploded ordnance to Hawick Police Station.
“The station was evacuated and an area around the building was cordoned off as a precaution.
“Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) attended and the item was safely removed.”
