Police have launched an urgent bid to trace a man who disappeared from his home in Midlothian just days before Christmas.
George McAlpine was last seen in Dalkeith town centre in the early hours of Saturday morning but has failed to make contact with friends or family members since.
The 31-year-old, from the Easter Langside area, but officers are becoming increasingly concerned for his welfare.
They have since implored the public to make contact if they have any information on George’s disappearance or current whereabouts.
He is described as being white, around six feet tall with blue eyes, brown hair and a muscular build.
George also has multiple tattoos, including the initials ‘LB’ on his right wrist and a tribal design covering his left arm, as well as a distinctive scar on his neck.
He was thought to be wearing a black jacket with dark jogging bottoms and brown Puma shoes when last seen and may be in possession of a Nike holdall-style bag.
Inspector George Nisbet, Dalkeith Police Station said:
"Officers have been speaking to family and friends as well as checking CCTV and local taxi and bus companies, but so far, there have been no further sightings of George since early Saturday morning.
"If you have any information as to George's whereabouts, then please call officers at Dalkeith Police Station via 101 and quote reference number 1754 of Sunday, 19 December, 2021."
Inspector Nisbet added: "We'd also ask George himself to get in touch with family, friends or police. we all just want to make sure he is safe and well."
