Workwear garment specialist Seahawk Apparel has teamed up with creative agency SSEAMS to encourage fashion brands to bring manufacturing back to Scotland.
The pair aim to "champion onshore manufacturing opportunities" and support Seahawk's plans to invest in its specialist garment manufacturing site at Glenrothes, Fife.
They aim to support clothing brands through the product development and production process for "progressive and sustainable apparel solutions" bringing textile manufacturing and design closer together. The new facility will offer services from materials sourcing to pattern making.
Seahawk will launch its Premium Apparel factory collection this Spring in a bid to attract British brands that currently source overseas to return home for their manufacturing needs. The ten-piece collection is designed and made in Scotland and aims to showcase British fabric mills as well as the craftsmanship of the Seahawk Apparel team.

If we can take learnings from other countries that have built a strong ecosystem around garment manufacturing and implement those in Scotland, we have a fantastic opportunity to build a sustainable future for a truly skilled workforce.
