Scottish parents mortified after X-rated images shared in public Zoom swim session

Scottish parents were mortified after hackers invaded a Zoom swimming session and shared X-rated images.

The live session, hosted by Scottish Swimming, included an Olympic swimmer and had more than 300 attendees, according to the Scottish Sun.

Duncan Scott, 22, who won two silver medals at the 2016 Olympics, fumed: "Our open invite workout date was cancelled due to a sick individual. I am sorry for what everyone and more importantly for what the kids that were part of the workout had to see."

One parent said: "My 11-year-old says he can't unsee it. Feel so angry that people can be so awful knowing it's something aimed at kids."

Another parent, Lyndsey Elliot, said: " I was in tears afterwards from shock and anger. I did some serious swearing to get it out of my head."

A statement from Scottish Swimming reads: "Scottish Swimming sincerely apologises for the incident that happened this morning during an organised Zoom event.

At the end of last week we shared information about the workout across our social media platforms, asking those interested in participating to log into a link that was shared publicly this morning.

"Unfortunately it was 'Zoom-bombed' with disturbing content shared with circa 300 people that had signed in to the event. The video was immediately shut down and referred to the police."
