Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service is coming to Larkhall Leisure Centre

The Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service will be at Larkhall Leisure Centre on Wednesday and Thursday, April 8 and 9.

To help with social distancing and avoid queues, you must make an appointment to give blood at this session.

Appointments are bookable until 4pm the day before the session.

In addition, the opening hours on both days have changed to 2pm to 6pm each day.

A spokesperson for the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service said: “We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. To book your appointment, call us on 0345 90 90 999 (Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm).”

The spokesperson added: “Giving blood is classed as an essential activity.

“However, we ask you to please come alone. Non-donating relatives, companions or children are breaching non-essential travel restrictions.

“If you have an appointment, please try to come no earlier than five minutes beforehand. This helps reduce queues.

“Please do not come to give blood if you are aged 70 or over.

“We are open, but our sessions are subject to change.

“We will get in touch if there are changes to your session, but please check scotblood.co.uk before coming to donate.

“Please make an extra special effort to give blood over the coming days, weeks and months. If you are fit and well and have not been impacted by COVID-19, it’s important you come forward to donate.”

You can find the details of this session at www.scotblood.co.uk/donation-locations/larkhall/
