Scottish music festival to gift free tickets to key workers for opening night

SKYE Live Festival is giving away free tickets to key workers for the opening night on Thursday May 12.

200 free tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis to staff of NHS Scotland, Health & Social Care, Care Workers, Scottish Ambulance Service, Police Scotland and Scottish Fire & Rescue.

The concert will take place in Portree and feature Donnie Munro and Friends with special guests Mànran.

Skye Live Festival was first established in 2015 and takes place on the peninsula Am Meall, otherwise known as The Lump on the Isle of Skye.

The event brings together an “eclectic mix of contemporary, traditional & electronic to one of Scotland’s most unique and special festival sites.”

Tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis and can be booked by visiting Skye Live’s website.

Ticket holders will be required to show ID upon entry to the concert as proof of employment.

If you are not a key worker, a limited number of tickets are also available for the public.

Munro said: “I am delighted we are able to offer this special gesture for all NHS and Emergency Service workers who served their communities with such dignity, dedication, and professionalism throughout the Covid crisis.”

A festival spokesperson said: “We are indebted to those who kept us and our loved ones safe during the pandemic – we hope this gesture goes some way to showing our thanks to them.”
