SCOTTISH Labour MSP Colin Smyth has been suspended from the party after an arrest linked to "indecent images".
Smyth, who represents the South Scotland region at Holyrood, has had the whip removed "pending an investigation", a Labour spokesperson said.
Police said a warrant was executed on August 5 in Dumfries, resulting in an arrest and charge in connection with possession of "indecent images".
A Labour Party spokesperson said: "The whip has been removed from Colin Smyth MSP, pending an investigation.
"We cannot comment further on this matter while the investigation is ongoing."

"A 52-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with possession of indecent images.
"He is due to appear at Dumfries Sheriff Court at a later date."
Smyth had already been selected to stand in the Dumfriesshire constituency for Scottish Labour in the 2026 elections.
He has now been removed from the Scottish Labour website, which now lists just 21 MSPs.
He is also listed as an independent on the Scottish Parliament website, where it is further noted that he represented Scottish Labour from 2016-2025.
Smyth said: “These events have come as a shock and this is a deeply stressful time.
“I am obviously cooperating fully with any inquiries and hope the matter can be resolved quickly.
“I am not able to comment further at this stage, and in the meantime I would ask that for the privacy of my family and friends to be respected.”
