Scottish hedge fund veteran bags investment board role

Scottish hedge fund veteran Fraser McIntyre has been appointed to the board of Schroder Income Growth Fund.

The University of Edinburgh graduate becomes an independent non-executive director and a member of its Audit and Risk, Nomination and Remuneration, and Management Engagement Committees. He left his last role as chief operating officer at Cantab Partners in October.

McIntyre began his career with Coopers & Lybrand in 1992 and qualified as a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland in 1995. He has since held senior posts at Goldman Sachs and UBS in London, and was chief financial officer at SRM Global Fund then chief operating officer with Kazimir Partners and Meditor Capital management before joining Cantab in 2013.

His experience includes asset management, investment banking and audit, and has sat on a number of fund and management company boards covering a wide range of asset classes.

He replaces Ian Barby on the Schroder Income Growth board. The company said: "Schroder Income Growth Fund is pleased to announce the appointment of Fraser McIntyre as an independent non-executive director of the Company, effective 17 December 2019. The board would like to take this opportunity to thank Ian for his invaluable contribution to the company over the last 14 years."
