The sun was shining on Ayr Race Course as revellers decked out in their finest soaked up the rays at the Scottish Grand National .

There were two home hopes in the showpiece race, with Geronimo and Big River trained by Scottish trainers as they flew the Saltire.
But it was Takingrisks who romped home to victory, with jockey Nicky Richard's riding the race of his life to scoop the grand prize at 25-1.
