The Scottish Government has reported no deaths from coronavirus with 1,036 new cases of the virus overnight.

A total of 3,497,287 people have now had their first coronavirus of the vaccine while 2,425,825 have been double-dosed.
The latest news comes as one of Scotland’s first coronavirus patients has spoken out about his 16-month battle with Long Covid.

Billy Thomson, from Cambuslang, told how he is “in agony” from the virus 16 months on and is calling on the Scottish Government for urgent help for people suffering from Long Covid.
The 60-year-old, who was in Glasgow Royal hospital for five months, said he was lucky to be alive coming out of an induced coma after catching the virus in March last year.
But he still can’t get an in-person appointment with his doctor to deal with constant bone pain, insomnia, fatigue, tiredness and possible Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
