Scottish Government releases Lanarkshire's coronavirus figures for May 18

The Scottish Government today said that 1840 people have now tested positive for coronavirus in Lanarkshire.

It comes as 2105  patients across Scotland who tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) have died.

The figures show ten people in Lanarkshire were in intensive care at midnight, with confirmed or suspected coronavirus.

And 103 people were in hospital across the county at midnight (confirmed)

The Scottish test numbers for May 18 show a total of 88,940 people have been tested across the country.

Of these:

■ 74,346 tests were confirmed negative

■ 14,594 tests were positive

■ 2105 patients who tested positive have died

■ 63 patients with confirmed or suspected COVID-19 were in intensive care last night, with 46 of those having tested positive

■ There were 1005 people in Scottish hospitals with confirmed COVID-19 (including those in intensive care), and a further 422 where it was suspected
