The Scottish Government confirms two deaths and 1030 new cases of coronavirus in last 24 hours.
132 people are currently being treated in hospital after testing positive for the virus with 13 requiring intensive care treatment.
The total number of coronavirus deaths sits at 7,679 while 244,714 have been confirmed as having caught the virus since the outbreak began.
A total of 3,477,378 people have now had their first coronavirus of the vaccine while 2,402,700 have been double-dosed.
The latest news comes as Professor Jason Leitch has defended the decision to hold a fans zone in Glasgow for the Euro 2020 championships.
Around 6,000 fans will be able to attend the fans zone every day to watch the matches on a big screen.
Leitch, who is an advisor to Nicola Sturgeon said that temperature checks do not work when asked why there weren’t bing put in place for the events.
He told BBC Good Morning Scotland: “Temperature checks is easy - it doesn’t work. It’s just very unreliable everywhere. Over time we’ve learned that temperature checking isn’t really a good mitigation, but your testing question is a good one.”
