The Scottish Government has confirmed that three people have died from coronavirus in the last 24 hours.
The latest figures for Scotland showed that 3,887 new cases had been identified overnight, bringing the total number since the pandemic began to 281,222.
It means the death toll since last March – of people who first tested positive for the virus within the previous 28 days - has risen to 7,716.
There are currently 235 people in hospital confirmed to have the virus with 19 being treated in intensive care.
3,799,467 people have received the first dose of vaccination, with 2,712,237 getting their second.
It comes as Public Health Minister Marie Todd has confirmed she is self-isolating with her family after receiving a positive COVID-19 test.
The MSP for Caithness, Sutherland and Ross announced the news on Twitter yesterday and said that she does not have any symptoms.
She said: “I’ve received a positive Covid test result today.
“No symptoms but am obviously self-isolating with my family now.
“I also want to say thanks to the testing staff and the contact tracers for their work."
Health Secretary Humza Yousaf tweeted: “Sorry to hear my friend & colleague @MareeToddMSP has tested positive for Covid.
“Best wishes for a speedy recovery for her and her family.”
