The Scottish Government has confirmed there was one coronavirus death reported in Tayside in the last 24 hours.
Data from Public Health Scotland also shows that 262 new cases were recorded across the region overnight.
The region’s death toll - composed of people who first tested positive for the virus within the previous 28 days - now increases to 727
In total, Tayside has recorded 48,283 cases of Covid-19 since the pandemic began.
The latest local vaccination data shows that 329,324 people in Tayside have received their first dose, 299,570 have had their second and 111,617 their booster, or third, dose.
Across the whole of Scotland there were also 17 further Covid-confirmed deaths in the last 24 hours.
The latest figures for Scotland showed that 3,349 new cases had also been identified overnight.

It means the national death toll since last March – of people who first tested positive for the virus within the previous 28 days – now stands at 9,375.
There are currently 759 people in Scotland’s hospitals confirmed to have the virus with 55 being treated in intensive care.
The figures come as news emerged that nurses have backed strike action in an escalating row with the Scottish Government.
Close to 90 per cent of nursing staff who responded to an indicative ballot have backed industrial action.
Around 58 per cent of that number have voted to strike.
It comes as the country's NHS is put under increased strain with Covid cases rising again.
There are currently 768 people in hospital confirmed to have the virus with 60 being treated in intensive care.
Julie Lamberth, Chair of the RCN Scotland Board, said: “The thought of taking industrial action does not sit well with nursing staff.
“So the response from members to our indicative ballot demonstrates how difficult things are within the NHS.
