The Scottish Government has confirmed there was one coronavirus death reported in Tayside in the last 24 hours.
Data from Public Health Scotland also shows that 205 new cases were recorded overnight across the region.
The region’s death toll - composed of people who first tested positive for the virus within the previous 28 days - is now 725
In total, Tayside has recorded 47,407 cases of Covid-19 since the pandemic began.
The latest local vaccination data shows that 329,116 people in Tayside have received their first vaccination with 299,181 having their second.
102,585 have had their booster, or third, dose.
Across the whole of Scotland there were also 20 further Covid-confirmed deaths in the last 24 hours.
The latest figures for Scotland showed that 2,233 new cases had also been identified overnight.
It means the national death toll since last March – of people who first tested positive for the virus within the previous 28 days – now stands at 9,313.
There are currently 753 people in Scotland’s hospitals confirmed to have the virus with 57 being treated in intensive care.
The figures come as John Swinney is set to give an update to the Scottish Parliament later today on the coronavirus situation across the country.
The Deputy First Minister and Covid Recovery Minister is likely to speak about the number of cases seen across the country.
It comes as fears grow that the COP26 climate conference in Glasgow could lead to a spike in covid cases in Glasgow and beyond.
