The Scottish Government has confirmed there were NO coronavirus deaths reported in Tayside in the last 24 hours.
Data from Public Health Scotland also shows that 265 new cases were recorded across the region overnight.
The region’s death toll - composed of people who first tested positive for the virus within the previous 28 days - remains the same at 726
In total, Tayside has recorded 48,021 cases of Covid-19 since the pandemic began.
The latest local vaccination data shows that 329,246 people in Tayside have received their first dose, 299,462 have had their second and 108,225 their booster, or third, dose.
Across the whole of Scotland there were also 26 further Covid-confirmed deaths in the last 24 hours.
The latest figures for Scotland showed that 3,340 new cases had also been identified overnight.
It means the national death toll since last March – of people who first tested positive for the virus within the previous 28 days – now stands at 9,358.
There are currently 768 people in Scotland’s hospitals confirmed to have the virus with 60 being treated in intensive care.
The figures come as health and social care experts have backed an extension of covid passports amid fears of stubbornly high covid infection levels.
Dr Andrew Buist, of the BMA, said they should be a condition of entry to cinemas and theatres, while Dr Donald MacAskill of Scottish Care also supported the move.
Under current rules, people over 18 need to show proof of vaccination to enter nightclubs and large events like concerts and football matches.
In a statement to MSPs this week, Deputy First Minister John Swinney warned the country was in a “precarious” position with the virus and expressed concerns about the impact on Christmas.
He said clear vaccine passports could be extended to other hospitality venues, comments widely interpreted to mean pubs and restaurants.
