Scottish Government confirms 283 new cases and no new deaths overnight

No new coronavirus deaths were recorded overnight in Scotland with 283 new positive cases.

The Scottish Government announced the latest figures on Thursday, May 6, as efforts to control the virus spreading continue.

Public Health Scotland (PHS) said today's total cases and tests includes those affected by the data flow issues reported yesterday.

On 5 May, PHS were aware of a data flow issue from UK Government Testing sites. This issue has now been resolved.

It was also reported that 58 Covid-19 patients are currently being treated in hospital with 11 in intensive care.

The total number of confirmed cases now sits at 227,012 since the start of the pandemic while 7,660 people have tragically lost their lives.

The number of people who have received their first dose of the vaccine sits at 2,860,635 while 1,400,296 have had their second.
