The Scottish Government has confirmed that 21 people have died from coronavirus in the last 24 hours.
The latest figures for Scotland showed that 2,056 new cases had also been identified overnight.
It brings the death toll since last March – of people who first tested positive for the virus within the previous 28 days – to 8,687.
There are currently 998 people in hospital confirmed to have the virus with 65 being treated in intensive care.
The total number of positive cases since the pandemic started stands at 577,282.
To date 4,223,719 people have received their first vaccination with 3,849,656 having a second jab.

The figures come as Scots have been urged to obtain a paper copy of their covid vaccination status if they struggle to download the smartphone app.
John Swinney defended the controversial passport scheme and insisted it was working well despite reports of some people struggling to complete the verification process online.
The Deputy First Minister said more than 280,000 people had downloaded the app by Sunday afternoon.
The vaccine passport is required if Scots want to gain admission to venues deemed "high risk" by health experts - including nightclubs, music venues and large sporting events.
But businesses claim the scheme is discriminatory and is placing unneeded pressure on already struggling sectors of the economy.
