Youngsters in this age group are now eligible for the covid jab after being granted permission by the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) last week.
The majority of school kids will head back to the classroom early next week after a six-week break from studying, however on their return they will still have to wear face coverings in order to prevent the spread of the deadly virus.
