The Scottish Government has confirmed that seven people have died from coronavirus in the last 24 hours.
The latest figures for Scotland showed that 1,250 new cases had also been identified overnight.
It brings the death toll since last March – of people who first tested positive for the virus within the previous 28 days – to 7,983.
There are currently 367 people in hospital confirmed to have the virus with 54 being treated in intensive care.
The total number of positive cases since the pandemic started stands at 351,915.
To date 4,020,712 people have received their first vaccination with 3,286,153 having a second jab.
It follows the news that the UK's climate minister has travelled to 30 countries, including six on the red list, without isolating once.
Alok Sharma, who is heading COP26 which is due to take place in Glasgow this year, has been blasted for not quarantining.
Under current rules, Sharma has a ministerial exemption from having to isolate in a hotel when returning from abroad.
However, after a trip to red-listed Bangladesh, he met Prince Charles within days and visited a primary school shortly after.
The Tory minister is currently in South America and has already visited Brazil and Bolivia which have both remain on the red list.
Travellers coming back from any of the 33 marked countries had to isolate for 10 days in a specific hotel costing £1,750 and later £2,285.
However, exemptions were applied for essential overseas workers who still must produce a negative test funded by the taxpayer.
