The Scottish Government has confirmed five people have died from coronavirus in the last 24 hours.
The latest figures for Scotland also showed that 5,021 new cases had also been identified overnight.
There are currently 391 people in hospital confirmed to have the virus with 44 being treated in intensive care.
To date 4,088,894 people have received their first vaccination with 3,603,429 having a second jab.
The figures come as senior government figures have warned physical distancing may need to be reintroduced amid a surge in cases.
John Swinney, who is also the Minister for Covid Recovery, said a number of measures could be put in place to curb the levels of infections across the country.
Swinney was asked on Good Morning Scotland what measures could be reimposed, he said: "Obviously there are quite a range of factors or options we have available.
"There are some baseline measures that we would reinforce the necessity of people complying with.
"Whether that's the voluntary aspects of trying to exercise physical distancing where that is possible to do so.
"Or whether that's following the mandatory requirements to wear face covering s in certain indoor settings and in other contexts.
"There's obviously the messages about hand hygiene and cough etiquette that we have concentrated on over the course of the period.
"All of these things can contribute as baseline measures to avoiding the spread of the virus."
Swinney also said the Government is not currently considering cancelling large events like football matches and gigs.
