4,372,129 people have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccination, 3,993,642 their second dose and 2,561,480 have got a third dose or booster.

This comes as First Minister Nicola Sturgeon expressed her disappointed that neither the Prime Minister nor the Chancellor was on a call to devolved nations about the state of the coronavirus pandemic in the UK.

The new Omicron strain became the dominant variant in Scotland on Friday and is spreading across the country with the R number believed to be as high as 4.
