The Scottish Government has confirmed that 29 people have died from coronavirus in the last 24 hours.
The latest figures for Scotland showed that 3,235 new case s had also been identified overnight.
It brings the death toll since last March – of people who first tested positive for the virus within the previous 28 days – to 9,448.
There are currently 786 people in hospital confirmed to have the virus with 63 being treated in intensive care.
To date 4,334,346 people have received their first vaccination with 3,933,493 having a second jab.
The figures come as Scotland will enjoy a much more 'normal' Christmas in 2021, according to Deputy First Minister John Swinney.
Swinney says things could look a lot more like they usually do this year after a festive period unlike any other in 2020.
He told the BBC: "I think if people are careful, and as long as we continue to adhere to the baseline measures we have in place, then I think people can experience a normal Christmas.
"The warning the government has had to make is that this is an unpredictable pandemic and we have to look at the sequence of events and make sure we have in place the appropriate measures to protect the public to enable life to go on as normal."
