The Scottish Government has confirmed there have been 2,481 new covid cases in the latest 24 hour period.
According to the latest figures for Scotland there were no new deaths recorded, although register offices are generally closed at weekends.
A total of 750 people were in hospital with the virus, and 59 patients were in intensive care units.
To date, 4,339,277 people have received their first vaccination with 3,939,128 having had a second jab.
This comes after the Sunday Mail revealed at the weekend elderly patients were given a salt water solution rather than the covid vaccine at a 40-bed care home facility in Lanarkshire.
A total of 11 people at the Millbrae Care Home in Coatbridge, which specialises in caring for those with dementia, were wrongly jabbed.
The health board issued an apology but admitted it cannot say how many other “vaccination errors” may have occurred. The Scottish Government confirmed it was aware of the incident.
