Scottish Government announces 13 deaths and 3,360 covid cases in last 24 hours

The Scottish Government has confirmed that 13 people have died from coronavirus in the last 24 hours,

The latest figures for Scotland showed that 3,360 new cases had also been identified overnight.

There are currently 774 people in hospital confirmed to have the virus with 57 being treated in intensive care.

To date 4,332,835 people have received their first vaccination with 3,931,709 having had a second jab.

The figures come as Nicola Sturgeon has warned the vaccine passport scheme could be extended ahead of Christmas.

This would see the scheme cover settings such as cinemas, theatres as well as some licensed hospitality premises but current restrictions remain.

The First Minister said that any potential changes would be imposed from Monday December 6, with an update expected next week.
