The Scottish Government has confirmed that 11 people have died from coronavirus in the last 24 hours,
The latest figures for Scotland showed that 6,215 new cases had also been identified overnight.
There are currently 540 people in hospital confirmed to have the virus with 38 being treated in intensive care.
To date 4,377,002 people have received their first vaccination with 4,003,377 having a second jab. A total of 2,782,462 people have received a booster.
The figures come as John Swinney has revealed the reason why crowds at football games across Scotland will be curbed to just 500 for three weeks from Boxing Day.
The Scottish Government faces questions on why all football clubs must restrict themselves to 500 supporters regardless of their size.

Supporters and clubs have argued that more people should be allowed into larger stadiums, such as Celtic Park, Ibrox, Pittodrie, Easter Road and Tynecastle, as there is more space to socially distance compared to some of the grounds in the lower leagues.
The Deputy First Minister and Covid Recovery Minister said the reason for the restriction was to send a "very clear signal" and to give "clarity" to fans.
