The Scottish Government has confirmed that 11 people have died from coronavirus in the last 24 hours.
The latest figures for Scotland show that 2,756 new cases have also been identified overnight, bringing the total number to 698,962.
It brings the death toll since last March – of people who first tested positive for the virus within the previous 28 days – to 9,467.
11,933 deaths have been registered in Scotland where COVID-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.
There are currently 767 people in hospital confirmed to have the virus with 61 being treated in intensive care.
To date 4,337,089 people have received their first vaccination with 3,936,594 having a second jab.
The new figures come as a lifeline centre for people with disabilities was torched by cruel vandals just FOUR DAYS after it reopened after lockdown.
The Disability Resource Centre in Paisley's Love Street was set alight on Thursday night, leaving the roof virtually destroyed.
Emergency services raced to the scene at 7.30pm to put out the blaze, which police have confirmed was deliberate.
An online portal has also opened to allow people to book Covid booster and flu jabs.
It is available to allow the following groups to book their winter vaccination appointments:
- People aged 50 to 59;
- Unpaid carers who are 16 and over;
- Those aged 16 and over who are household contacts of immunosuppressed individuals.
