To date 4,378,172 people have received their first vaccination with 4,006,076 having a second jab.

A total of 2,841,703 people have received a booster.

It comes as covid vaccine centres in Scotland are set to close on Christmas Day as Scots are urged to come forward to get jabbed before the big day.

Testing facilities across the country will remain open everyday throughout the festive period as the Omicron variant continues to spread.

Health Secretary Humza Yousaf asked people to book their vaccines before the end of the year.

Test sites will operation on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day, and tests will continue to be processed through the lab network.

While, vaccination centres are set to reopen on December 27 as the Scottish Government looks to get as many Scots as possible to get boosted before Hogmanay.
