A total of eight people have died of coronavirus in Scotland in the last 24 hours.
Figures announced by the Scottish Government this afternoon reveal 488 new cases of the virus have been identified overnight, bringing the total cases to 212,997.
The latest figures mean that, since the start of the pandemic, 7,552 people have lost their lives to coronavirus in Scotland.

The statistics also reveal a total of 367 people are being treated in hospital, with 31 in ICU.
2,085,525 people have received the first dose of the Covid vaccination and 207,028 have received their second dose.
It comes as football fans have been warned they will be locked up if they show up at tomorrow’s Old Firm clash, following a surge in cases among police officers linked to the Rangers title celebrations.
The Record learned more than 30 police officers have had to self-isolate after some of them tested positive for Covid-19 after working among the crowds at Ibrox and George Square two weeks ago.
With fears of similar scenes tomorrow, it was speculated that the third derby meeting of the season could be postponed by the authorities.
But Justice Secretary Humza Yousaf yesterday confirmed that the match will be allowed to go ahead as scheduled, with a significant police presence to maintain order.
