The Scottish Government has confirmed 3,756 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours.
The latest figures for Scotland showed no deaths have been recorded, although register offices are generally closed on weekends.
Test positivity is currently at 11.8 per cent.
There are currently 561 people in hospital confirmed to have the virus with 39 being treated in intensive care.
To date 4,364,519 people have received their first vaccination with 3,976,670 having had a second jab. While 2,154,571 have received a third dose or booster.
It comes as Nicola Sturgeon announced the vaccination programme would be accelerated in response to the Omicron variant.
The Scottish Government has been told to "pull out all the stops" to ensure that all adults receive their booster jab by the new year.
However, Health Secretary Humza Yousaf admitted that the deadline would be "extremely challenging."
This morning Boris Johnson announced the first death from the Omircon variant in the UK.
Speaking during a visit to a vaccination clinic in London, the Prime Minister said: “Sadly, yes, Omicron is producing hospitalisations and sadly at least one patient has been confirmed to have died with Omicron."
