Scottish Government announce 2,932 new covid cases and 20 deaths in last 24 hours

The Scottish Government has confirmed there have been 2,932 new Covid-19 cases in the latest 24 hour period.

According to the latest figures for Scotland there were 20 new deaths recorded.

A total of 712 people were in hospital with the virus, and 61 patients were in intensive care.

To date, xxxx people have received their first vaccination with 3,942,927 having had a second jab.

It comes after Nicola Sturgeon announced changes to the Covid vaccine passport scheme during a speech at Holyrood on Tuesday.

Since last month, Scots have been required to show evidence they have had at least two doses of the coronavirus vaccine to gain entry into a number of ‘high risk’ venues or events. These include large events such as concerts, football matches and nightclubs.

The rules on the Covid vaccine certification scheme will change slightly from December 6.

Scots will be allowed to enter venues already covered by the scheme by showing a recent negative lateral flow test result, regardless of vaccination status.

Evidence of both jabs will still be accepted by door staff from this point.
