The winners of this year's Scottish Gin Awards have been announced at a glittering awards ceremony in Glasgow.
A total of 21 winners were announced in total at the fifth annual awards, which aim to identify the best gin businesses and gins produced in Scotland.
The categories saw Scottish producers and gins take home prizes for everything from Old Tom Gin of the Year to Scottish Gin Distillery of the Year.
45 expert judges participated in the judging event which assessed written entries from 67 Scottish gin businesses and involves a rigorous blind tasting session that evaluated over 300 gins.
Adam Hardie, Chair of the 2021 Scottish Gin Awards, said: “Scotland has a world class record in gin distilling and production and these awards recognise those businesses which, despite the odds, are really at the top of their game.
"This year, the Scottish gin industry has shown resilience, innovation, and creativity. Congratulations to all the finalists and we look forward to seeing medals on all winning products as we approach the all-important Christmas season.”
The Scottish Distillery of the Year award at this year's event saw the Isle of Harris Distillery crowned winners in a tightly fought all-island final with 3 other Hebridean distilleries.
The popular London Dry Gin of the Year award saw 47 finalists battle it out before the gold medal was awarded to Kinrara Distillery of Aviemore, for their Artist Edition Gin of Ginny the Coo.
4 new awards were added for 2021 were presented for Best Pink Gin, Best Festive Gin and the Flavoured Gin category has been split with new categories for Citrus and Berry Flavoured.
Speaking about the burgeoning Gin category, organisers KD Media pointed out that gin continues to experience record-high sales according to the WSTA with total sales to the year ending March 2021 worth over £2 billion pounds.
£1.2 billion of these sales were made in shops, supermarkets, and online. Most distilleries have weathered the storm of the pandemic experiencing increases in online sales while sales in the off-trade have declined with lockdown.
Other winners on the night included Eden Mill who collected 4 medals, the most of any distillery in the competition, while Edinburgh-based boutique distillery South Loch Gin, which distills on-site at the bar 56 North also did well.
They collected two gold medals in the Flavoured Gin category for Citrus and Lime Flower Gin and Spiced Cranberry and Clementine.
