Scottish former banker joins board of United Oil & Gas

Rockhopper Exploration chief financial officer Stewart MacDonald has joined the board of oil producer United Oil & Gas.

The University of St Andrews chemistry graduate becomes a non-executive director as part of an agreement under which UOG took over Rockhopper Egypt, leaving Rockhopper with a 10% stake. MacDonald has been CFO of Rockhopper Exploration since 2014 and was previously a director for Rothschild bank, advising on M&A in the oil and gas sector. Rockhopper is focused mainly on exploration off the Falkland Islands.

UOG chairman Graham Martin said: “I am delighted to welcome Stewart to the board. His familiarity with the Abu Sennan asset and experience in Egypt will prove invaluable to Unitred. We are sure stewart will make a very positive contribution to the board.”
