Scottish football reconstruction back on the table

The possibility of Scottish football reconstruction will be discussed once more which could result in a restructuring of the SPFL pyramid.

The BBC reports the move is being led by Hearts owner Anne Budge following a meeting of top-flight clubs on Friday. Both Celtic and Rangers are understood to have backed calls for potential reconstruction to be explored once more.

As it stands, Budge's Hearts will be relegated if the league is called off - as is expected - while Celtic will be crowned Scottish Premiership champions.

A previous attempt at league reconstruction failed after it failed to garner enough support from top flight teams.

It's understood all options are currently on the table, including temporary and permanent reconstruction.

Possible revamps include a 14-14-14 three league format or four league 14-10-10-10 setup.
