Scottish family have car seized by English police after holidaying with no tax

A Scottish family were left in a sticky situation after their car was seized while on holiday.

Taking a staycation down in England, the family had been quickly found out by police for having no tax on their car this week.

While driving down in the seaside county, the car had passed Dorset Police's No Excuse team, who pulled them over.

After taking a look at the details on the black Vauxhall, the team quickly realised that the vehicle had not been taxed in months, with the most recent tax expiring in November 2020.

Quick to take action, the family car was seized, with the driver then being reported to the DVLA, reports the Record.

A spokesman said: "We were asked to assist traffic out in the west of the county.

"We stopped the black Vauxhall with a family on holiday from Scotland.

"No tax since November last year. Vehicle seized and driver reported to the DVLA."
