A Scottish events company has hired five new employees after bouncing back from the brink of collapse during the pandemic.
Panoptic Events had "a hard year of learning, systemising and educating itself" as the coronavirus crisis effectively shut the arts and entertainment sector.
The Glasgow-headquartered business was unable to operate as usual due to the restrictions, so began hosting virtual events instead.
It has since used the UK Government’s Kickstarter scheme to employ five new team members - Molly Harper as sponsorship and experiential manager, Stuart Wood as an event coordinator, Ceren Oruc as a marketing assistant, Courtney Hughes as a sales manager and Amanda-Jane Johnstone as head of events.
The team has grown to seven people, with recruitment about to start for an eight member.
Craig McGee, chief executive of Panoptic Events, said: “At the start of 2020, there was a major uncertainty across the world with the future of events.
“Panoptic as a company was affected, as were many, so I wrote out a plan to play the long game and aim to return stronger than before.”
He added that the business is in discussions with a number of clients about events, both live and online.
New marketing assistant Ceren Oruc commented: “l was thrilled to be joining a group of young professionals who are all very motivated to create memorable events - with Craig’s expertise and direction, l cannot wait to contribute and learn about events.”
The company was created in 2014 and has delivered more than 3,000 events across the UK and globally.
