The Scottish Lib Dems have held the Orkney constituency but with a reduced share of the vote.
Liam MacArthur saw his share of the vote reduce by five per cent and the SNP vote increase by the same amount.
The Lib Dem vote actually down with a 4.8 per cent swing from the party to the SNP.
However, it was a comfortable win for the Lib Dems.
The results were:
Lib Dem ~ 7238 (62.4%, -5.4) SNP ~ 3369 (29.1%, +5.2) Conservative ~ 699 (6%, +1.9) Labour ~ 290 (2.5%, -0.4)
The turnout was 65.4%.
