Scottish Election 2021: Angus Robertson wins Edinburgh Central seat for SNP

The SNP have pulled off a major victory in the Holyrood election by winning the Edinburgh Central seat.

The pivotal constituency, which was won by former Scottish Tory leader Ruth Davidson in 2016, has been taken back by the Nationalists.

Davidson won the seat for the Tories five years ago with a majority of 610.

However former SNP Westminster leader Angus Robertson, tipped as a future party leader, won it this evening.

He defeated Conservative candidate Scott Douglas, an Edinburgh councillor, by 4,732 votes.
