Scottish EasyJet holiday flights cancelled due to English lockdown

Scots with holidays abroad could find their trips cancelled - due to the new lockdown in England.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced on Saturday that there will be new lockdown rules from this Thursday south of the border.

But Easyjet have confirmed that the lockdown will have a big knock on effect on Scottish travellers.

A spokesman said: “We are operating as many flights as possible but like other airlines we are continuing to see travel restrictions across Europe impact demand for flights and are adjusting our flight schedule in line with them.

“Following the UK Government’s sudden announcement for a lockdown in England we have had to review our UK schedule because we are seeing the effects on demand felt throughout the whole of the UK including flights departing from Scotland.

“Any customers whose flights are cancelled are being notified and informed of their options which include transferring their flights free of charge, or receiving a voucher or refund for the value of their whole booking.”

TUI has already cancelled all holidays and flights from England and Wales from November 4 until December 2.
